Do you mean sell shares like the Panthers and the Celtics did a decade or so ago?
The ticker symbol was PUCK for the Florida Panthers.
I bought some Celtics shares for a copy of the stock certificate. As far as investment, it was better than holding cash as far as decent dividend each year, stable stock price and a buyout a few year later.

Exactly! I knew the Celtics did it but I did not know that the Florida Panthers did that. I wish I had gotten in on that when it was offered.
