  1. Sorry I posted this to comments on the previous show but here’s my comment:
Great show as always! As a Preds fan in Nashville, I am happy for all the blogs I am able to read because if I just had regular media coverage, my hockey growth would be extremely stunted. Good to hear your thoughts on the subject. Keep up the GREAT work!

  2. To the guy who was wondering whether The Tooth Fairy was worth watching…

I saw it in a thearter when it first came out. It’s really a kids movie, and the main plot has little to do with hockey besides it being part of the main character’s backround. That being said, there are many scenes of him playing hockey, and “The Rock” is a good actor (though some, I’m sure, would disagree). If your looking for a adults hockey movie, not the best, but good for kids.

And a quick question, hopefully someone’s had this expirience and can answer it. I’ve preordered NHL Slapshot from Amazon.com. I’ve never preordered a game before. Will I recieve the game on the release date (September 7th), or will the game ship that day?

  3. Hello pals!

I’m from the UK, a friend of mine who’s over in the states teaching in Morgantown, West Virginia got me watching the Stanley Cup final from a few years back where the Penguins won (so they’re my team now!) More recently I bought NHL 10 and have been enjoying that a lot (the attacking style in hockey is just great to play), and that’s been the main reason why my interest has gone up recently. Just wanted to say living in the UK the NHL is going to be on late late at night here so I’ll be recording games mainly and watching them the next day. I just listened to this podcast for the first time today and it’s brilliant! Think next time i visit the US I am going to be able to surprise a few people with my NHL knowledge! My football team over here is newcastle united who are famous for wearing the black and white stripes on our kit and our nickname is the magpies (or barcodes!). Penguins are quite similar I guess… Anyway trailing off. Just to say really looking forward to seeing the different teams play this season and I’ll be listening to your podcast to understand what is going on! Cheers!

  4. Great show as always guys!

I am relieved to see that Doug’s speculation about Antti Niemi’s future in a european league was not realized. Now San Jose has one of the best goaltending tandems in NHL, 2mil $ is a steal for a stanley cup winning goalie.

Keep up the good work fellas! /imeps from sweden.
